Junior League - Northern Domination (We Are Leeds...Leeds...Leeds!)

What a fantastic and exciting day of racing in Grantham. I would like to congratulate all of you on your behaviour, cheering, team spirit, swimming and most importantly winning the National Junior League Northern Final. You were all ace and we are very proud of you. The team achieved a whopping 17 1st place finishes. The first half of the competition saw the teams battle closely for points but in the second half Leeds came through strong and relentlessly ruled until the end. Back to hard training now ready to kick put on a fight in the National Final on November the 27th in Corby.

After winning the Northern Final 2010 to 2013 it was great to see the team back at the top again after their 2014 3rd place and 2015 2nd place finishes.

I am sure some of you will now will be suffering from banging headaches and very sore throats. It was great to see you all having so much fun on the balcony as you cheered for your team, hope you all had fun. Thank you for all the support you gave. Lets see if when we go to the final we can go with not just the best swimmers, but the best supporters as well.

The team would like to thank those Jo Yeomans and Carla Paniagua-Gutierrez for their fantastic team managing and also Jez Cowan and Andrew Russell for their help on the day.

4th - Northampton SC (4 x 1st Places) = 156

Good luck to City of Leeds, Gateshead & Whickham, Stockport Metro and Northampton SC who move forward to compete in the National Final in November.
